92.9 Voice FM is a non-profit community Christian radio ministry provides a wholesome family-oriented presence through radio right around the Toowoomba region. We rely on the generous gifts and donations from members and supporters along with sponsorship from local businesses to raise the funds necessary to operate and remain on-air. To deliver better and more reliable content and sound to you our listeners we a continually looking at ways to improve and strengthen our (often old) equipment and resources. As a community radio station, we are largely restricted from raising funds using commercial means, requiring us to rely on the support and donations of supporters and listeners.

Raising Funds for the Following Equipment
Studio Console Desks
The new generation of digital consoles will enable high quality interviews, announcements and voice overs. These consoles are the main units used in each studio and are essential for any production work and interviews. The current desks are starting to fail and are developing issues with audio quality.

Telephone Integration Module
The ability to receive phone calls in the studio is vital for interviews and the existing equipment has begun to fail. We plan to replace this with a new Telphone Integration Module to improve and expand the ability to interview over the phone.

Transmission Processor
To provide a high definition audio signal, the audio that is sent out via our transmitter is processed to improve the quality. This new digital processor will provide enhanced audio quality and will integrate with the new digital consoles as part of an integrated network.

Radio Antenna
Our current antenna array, visible below, has a suspected crack in it causing it to fail in heavy rain. This results in the station going off-air after any major rain event. Understandably, this is a priority to fix, however it costs a couple of thousand dollars every time we engage licenced riggers to climb the tower and perform work. We are working towards a replacement antenna and the costs of installing it. The antenna array is the four arrow-like units on the right.

FM Transmitter
Our current transmitter (shown below) is over a15 years old and is partially damaged (due to antenna fault). Whilst it is still functional it is likely the rest of the transmitter may fail. We have no backup transmitter.

We are currently transmitting from the station to the transmitter via a loaned link unit. We need to purchase our own permanent link unit.

NexGen Software & Server
To increase and improve our production facilities, we are planning to purchase another NexGen software licence and associated server for production purposes. NexGen is the software which runs the station content.
